Use this dialog box to choose a font-matching method (SuperATM or PANOSE), or to combine the two methods by specifying one as primary and one as secondary, or to deactivate font-matching entirely. The setting you specify applies to all PageMaker sessions, not just to the active publication. The SuperATM option is enabled only if you have SuperATM installed.
Click the diamonds beside the “SuperATM” and “PANOSE” buttons to specify a primary and (optionally) a secondary font-matching method. A solid black diamond indicates the primary method; a gray diamond indicates the method PageMaker uses when the primary method isn’t applicable (for example if a missing font is one that SuperATM doesn’t support). A hollow diamond indicates that the method is disabled.
Click “Exceptions…” to maintain a list that specifies which font to substitute when a particular font is missing. This list can be updated automatically when you accept changes in the “PANOSE font matching results” dialog box.
Click “Spellings…” to maintain a list of fonts that differ only in spelling on Macintosh and Windows platforms.
The slider bar for tolerance tells how closely a substitute font should match the missing font. For example, if you’ve set the bar near “Exact,” the match must be close to identical, or PANOSE will propose the default font.
